  • Message From Principal:

principalThank you for visiting the Charlieville Presbyterian Primary School section of the PPSBE website. As the Acting Principal of the school I can assure you that our school is a great place to learn! We currently serve approximately 250 students, and is supported by the caring Charlieville and Chaguanas communities, involved parents, dedicated Presbyterian Primary Schools’ Board of Education, astute Ministry of Education and most importantly our exceptional staff. The motto of the school mirrors that of the Ministry of Education which reads “Striving for Excellence” -- which we hold in great esteem.

We are committed to educating the whole child in a positive and safe learning environment. To make this mission a reality, our highly qualified staff instruct students within the rigorous constructs of the Trinidad and Tobago curriculum and the belief that all students can learn. Our staff utilizes the school’s computer lab, library facilities, learning resources in-house or externally and the research based best practices to keep students engaged and active in their learning.

Charlieville Presbyterian School continues to strive to create a lifelong-learning culture, in order to assist in the development of individuals who are purpose driven and would perform par excellence, in all fields of endeavour, while ensuring a love for God, humanity and nature. This vision is realised as we are always engaged in the overall holistic development of the child as the school not only hosts a façade of enriching programmes and activities both during and after school; but keeps enshrined the doctrines of the Presbyterian Church. Charlieville Presbyterian School welcomes the active support of the community to achieve our vision. We, also, firmly believe all parents must continue to be highly involved to assist their children in realizing and ensuring their fullest potential for the positive impact for an empowered nation.

    Yours respectfully,
    Ms. Carol Nandalal
    Principal Primary, Ag.

  • History of School:

Charlieville Presbyterian Primary School now in its 92nd year of existence, was established by the Canadian Missionaries on the 23rd January, 1923. It was a two storey building which housed 12 classrooms, an administrative office combined with a computer lab and a library. Unfortunately in March, 2014 the school suffered a fire in which the Administrative and Senior Department Wing was completely destroyed. During the months of July-October of the same year, the wing was rebuilt as a concrete, two storey building. This building boasts of office designed for Administration and the Principal, a Staff Room, Store Room, Sick Bay, Library, Computer Lab and classes for Infants, Standard Four and Standard Five.
