principalIt is our pleasure to welcome you via this website into the life of Poole River Presbyterian Primary School. This school is one of the smaller Presbyterian Primary School, but we are big in heart as a staff in meeting the needs and expectation of all our students.

The success of the school is hinged on a safe and caring environment which promotes learning and achievement for all students. We believe in a shared vision that the school and community must work together as an extended family.

We realise that in this rapid pace of technological advancement, where information is served on the click of a mouse, the school has to become the platform where the essential creative spirit is allowed to grow and develop. As a result, a visit to our school would showcase well-manicured gardens, with fruits and vegetables, and a variety of sports and music programmes. We encourage that rich mix of academic and co-curriculum activities that provide ample opportunities to develop the talent and interest of our diverse thinkers.

We invite you to visit our Facebook page (link above) and share in the experiences of the great things that are happening at Poole River Presbyterian Primary School.

  • History of School:

The Poole River Presbyterian School was established on June 6th 1911 by the Canadian Missionaries of the Presbyterian Church. The present building was commissioned in 1950. The school is inextricably linked to that of the Poole River Presbyterian Church and catered for indentured labourers who worked on the Glod Estate (Glod Road). The school has always placed great emphasis on agricultural science having excelled over the years in the National Agri-Science competitions. It is noteworthy to mention that the principals who served from 1952 to present are still alive and were recently honoured at the school’s 100th year anniversary.
